CinePort is a WAP portal about movies. In this portal, there is a solution for people who want to access information about movies from their mobile phones. This WAP portal is device independent and supports many types of the mobile phones. When a user wants to know what’s playing now or what’s going to be shown next week, the user doesn’t need to use a computer. Instead, the user can easily browse to WAP portal with his/her mobile-phone. This WAP portal will allow users to look up breaking news about movies, movie stars, which movies are playing now and/or which movies are playing next week or later. Also, cineport is enable users to search for movies. Some features of the portal is only available after registration. When the user finds a movie, he/she can easily comment on the movie after signing in to the system. The portal has an alerting system which is using e-mail. This system sends upcoming movies to users. Registered users (portal members), will be able to comment and rate movies depending on their interests. An alerting system is available to the registered users and they also have the advanced search option.

CinePort WAP portal is my senior design project. J2EE components (Spring Framework), Hibernate and Volantis is used at the project.

     Live Languages has written with groovy-grails which is based on java. Project’s tool is IntelliJ IDEA. The purpose of the Live Languages; The site gives online language training with teachers and students. Guest registers as a student, teacher or institution. Teachers at the Live Languages, give foreign language courses to the students at their available times.

Project began with this purpose. Extra features added on the derivation of different ideas.

     Shop screen is similar with Mikroshop program. It’s an automation program which companies are selling products to their customers with discount or without discount. Program consists of three screens. First of these screens; you can access or change the customer and company informations. Also you can create a new customer or company. At the sale screen; you can add the products to the chart table. At the last screen which is about payment; you can make a final discount and print the saved bill.

     I have prepared the contents of Akbank static wap pages. I used XHTML when I was preparing the static pages.

     In addition, I helped for preparing the Akbank campaign which is runing on wap.akbank.com.tr between 25 September 2008 and 7 October 2008. Akbank was receiving name and surname from users and was recording that information to the database. It would allow users to win iPhone under certain circumstances. With an ericsson contracted tool called “drutt” was used for the preparation of campaign page.

     Akaltın Insurance and Brokerage Services is one of the agencies of Axa Insurance. Akaltın insurance is active in; home, car, health, life, business, future and travel insurance issues. On this website, customers have their own accounts and these accounts may be available on through various tasks. Simply, they may fill out the bid policies and offer their own bids. In addition, users with Akaltın insurance intermediary; can learn about all products of AXA Insurance.

     My cookbook is a web site that contains recipes and supplies the cook books which is made by site users. Registered users can add their favorite recipes in their cart and take them in a book whenever they want.

     You may see the resort at holiday page and you can make a reservation for your favorite places. HTML and (very little) PHP is used in this study.

     Tic tac toe game is played between computer and human on 3x3 board. The user tries to make XXX and computer tries to make OOO. They both play their move; from left to right, top to bottom or diagonally. PHP is used in this study.

     Online chat system has chat rooms and chat users who creates the rooms. Data is kept at files. When the users first login to the system, they will see a list of open chat rooms. If there is not any opened room, the user opens one. If there is opened room, he/she can enter the chat room. People in the rooms can chat in public or private. PHP is used in this study.

     It is is a java console program which manages the Oracle database. Album, singer and song can be added with menus; the necessary arrangements can be made.

     Student Information System’s (which is written with PHP) data is kept at files. New information that we enter, writes it to the files and reads it from there and shows it to the user's screen.

     Hepsiburada.com sales page sells desktop computers. Program which is written in PHP, records the hepsiburada web site information to the database. Then it prints this information to the screen through MySQL queries.

     At the E-Messaging system, registered users are messaging private among themselves. PHP and MySQL database is used at the program.

     SOS is a game played with 2 players. The user determines the size of the board. The person who made up SOS (from left to right, top to bottom, or diagonally) wins the game. PHP session is used in the program.

     You may search the users (who have database record) quickly with ajax search engine and also you may print their information to the screen. PHP and Javascript are used in the program.

     This program is written for using in pre-school education. The purpose of the project is; teaching shapes, numbers and some concepts to the children who does not know reading or writing. Main idea is; the children learns basic things with sound and pictures using the Java Graphical User Interface.

     It’s a simple calculator written in Java applet. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division operations are done successfully.

     In the first application; cubes are making rotation around themselves. You may change the color of the cubes with the F1, F2, F3, F4, F9, F10, F11, F12 keys. In the second application; there is a colorful cube in the middle. You may see it from another views through mouse interaction.

     You should download glut32.dll to C:\WINDOWS\system32 in your computer in order to run the following programs.

     This study deals with the employee recruitment and selection process. For effective recruitment and selection companies and organizations should use some methods. Job advertisement is the one of these. Compaines must not publish job postings that give preference to age, race, colour, place of origin, political belief, religion, marital status, family status, physical, mental disability, sex, sexual orientation. In addition, Job analysis has to be done in a best way before publishing the job advertisement. Job description is determined in this analysis. Companies and organizations could use various methods for recruiting new candidates. These are screening the candidates, selection via application forms, selection via interviews, selection via references, etc.

     Job interviews are the most important part of the recruitment and selection process. There are ethical rules for both human resource managers and the candidates. HR managers should avoid the questions directly targeted the candidate. The laws about recruitment and selection are not used effectively in Turkey. But in United States there is a comission (named EEOC) to resolve victimization while recruiting candidates.

     Everybody wants to work in the best workplace. And all companies always want to choose the best employees. Companies and organizations have many responsibilities for a successful recruitment process.
